1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ReasonDx (available at reasondx.com and associated subdomains), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and contributors.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

ReasonDx is a clinical reasoning education platform designed for medical students, residents, fellows, and physician educators. The platform provides:

ReasonDx is an educational tool only and is not a clinical decision support system. See Section 9 (Medical Disclaimer) for full details.

3. User Accounts & Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By registering, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you will maintain its accuracy.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at support@reasondx.com.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

ReasonDx offers a free (Freemium) tier and a paid Pro tier ($14.99/month or $99/year). Payments are processed securely via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method.

5. User-Generated Content

5a. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all content you input into ReasonDx. By submitting content — including text, citations, questions, or case materials — you represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use that content and that your use complies with applicable copyright law.

This includes content you paste into the StudyDx MCQ generator, case builder, or any other input field. ReasonDx does not review user-inputted content before processing and cannot verify that your inputs comply with third-party licenses.

5b. Private vs. Public Use

Content you generate for your personal private library only is your own study material and is not distributed by us. You bear responsibility for ensuring your inputs comply with the license terms of any source material you use.

Content you submit to the Public Library must come from sources that permit commercial use and derivative works — specifically CC BY licensed articles or U.S. Government publications (public domain). Submissions based on CC BY-NC, CC BY-ND, or proprietary sources will be rejected or removed.

5c. License Grant

By submitting content to the Public Library, you grant ReasonDx a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use that content within the platform. You retain ownership of content in your personal library.

5d. What We Do With Your Inputs

Text you input into the MCQ generator or case builder is sent to our AI processing pipeline to generate educational content. We do not:

See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Intellectual Property

All platform content created by ReasonDx — including case architectures, clinical reasoning frameworks, pathophysiology modules, the CaseFrame system, ReasoningPathway Fingerprinting methodology, and all associated software — is the intellectual property of ReasonDx and its creator. All rights reserved.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from ReasonDx platform content without express written permission.

Our Commitment

ReasonDx is committed to using only legally permissible source material in its platform content. Our sourcing policy requires:

For Users Submitting to the Public Library

Only CC BY or U.S. Government sources may be cited in Public Library submissions. "Open access" alone is not sufficient — the source must carry a license that explicitly permits commercial use and derivative works. Acceptable licenses include CC BY and CC0. The platform will flag submissions that appear to use restricted sources.

Safe Sources for Public Submissions

8. DMCA Safe Harbor

ReasonDx respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

If you believe that content on ReasonDx infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to our designated DMCA agent containing:

  3. Identification of the material on our platform that you claim is infringing, with sufficient detail for us to locate it
  4. Your contact information (address, telephone, email)
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
